John McReady is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Darlington. He made his debut in the Football League in April 2010.
McReady trained in Simon Clifford's Brazilian Soccer School in Sunderland before joining Darlington on a youth contract in 2008.[1] He was first involved in the first-team squad during the 2008–09 season.[2] The following year he spent time on loan at Northern League club Billingham Town.[3][4] On his return to Darlington, McReady was named more frequently among the first-team substitutes, and he made his debut on 24 April 2010 as a half-time substitute, as Darlington lost 2–0 at home to Grimsby Town in Football League Two.[5] He became the 53rd player to be used by Darlington during the 2009–10 season.[6]
On 25 September 2010, McReady scored his first senior goal for Darlington, a 93rd minute winner in a 1–0 victory over Southport.[7]
